The Beginning ...

      Since 1998, the Municiaplity of Velingrad has had a Sustainable Development with the following instruments for its realization:

• Local Commission on Sustainable Development
  

• Center for Business and Information
  • The Center officially opened on April 4, 1999. It is a part of the cooperative project between the Municipality of Velingrad and the United Nations Development Programme, which included the creation of the Sustainable Development Strategy, and the structural unit (CBI) which works for its fulfillment in the sphere of small and medium-sized business.

• Agency for Regional Development
  • Founded on September 9, 2000 with the particiption of the Center for Business and Information, the main goals of the Agency are: assisting, encouraging, and stimulating the local economy through offering a packet of services including business training, law, financial, and marketing consultations, information, and administrative assistance.
